  1. Create a schedule. Schedule meal and sleep breaks, especially during long-haul trips.
  2. Incorporate a relaxation routine. Practicing deep breathing can help decrease stress and anxiety. Reading or listening to music before bed can also help you to relax.
  3. Have a comfortable place to sleep. Keep conditions cool, dark and quiet wherever possible.
  4. Maintain consistency. During your off-duty time, try planning seven hours of uninterrupted sleep. Keep a regular sleep-wake schedule as much as possible.
