Safety Is Everyone’s Concern! We live and breath a safety culture. Static stretching is an excellent way for commercial drivers like you to relieve muscle tension, improve flexibility, and prevent discomfort, especially after long periods of driving. For optimal results, spend about 60 seconds on each stretching exercise, so if you hold each stretch for 15 seconds, do it 4 times. If you hold it for 30 seconds, do it twice. The following exercises can be done anytime you are stopped and waiting, for example: at a red light, at a dock, or for a train to pass.
They include:
- Shoulder shrugs
- Neck stretches
- Arm extensions
- Clenched fists
- Wrist stretches
- Shoulder stretches
Tips for Effective Stretching:
- Stretch slowly and gently without bouncing.
- Breathe deeply throughout the stretch to help relax your muscles.
- Perform these stretches at regular intervals, especially after driving for extended periods.
These stretches can be done during breaks or at the end of your route to help you stay flexible and prevent stiffness. If you have feedback and suggestions, send details to ship@ippolitogroup.com
